It's About That Time!
For all you guys that want to know what's been going on since I left Miami.... Not much. I just left Ithaca yesterday afternoon and I arrived in NYC last night. I'm staying with a friend who lives in Brookyln. So far things have been going pretty smoothly. The Lord is so good. When I thought there wasn't enough time, He made things work out just right.
Tons of people have asked me, "How do you feel about moving?" My constant reply has been, "Okay. I'm kinda not as excited as I would have been if it were somewhere I had never been before." And then people kind of look at me like I'm crazy once I give them this reply. "Really! But you're moving there. How can you not be excited?" Well, I do like the idea of going there, but since I already know what awaits me(for the most part), it isn't as exciting as going somewhere I've never been before. Uncharted waters really peaks up my interest ;).
But, I do want to correct any misconceptions that might have arised from my lack of seemingly exitement about my move to the other side of the world. I am happy to be moving. I'm happy because I know it's God's will and I feel a peace about going there. I absolutely can't wait till I meet the other JETS (the other program participants). I know it's going to be a blast hanging out with them and hanging out with the locals in my area! And I can't wait to start traveling around Asia! :) Now that's going to be some real fun!
Well, I'm off to our mandatory meeting in Manhattan. I head out to Japan tomorrow morning at 11:20am. And then the two year adventure begins. I'll write to you guys later on the other side of the world!
much love,
