Well I'm Here Folks
The counting of the days are over folks. I'm finally here. After all that waiting and standing and waiting and standing, I arrived to my hotel here around 10:30pm on Sunday (your Sunday morn of 9:30am or so). One would have thought that since I had been traveling since 7:30am on Saturday until 9:30am on the next day that this someone would have wanted to go to sleep. Well apparently not. I was in and out of sleep on the plane (but it was all very uncomfortable) and I still haven't gotten myself to bed yet. I've met a few random peeps who I think are cool, but not many (only two) from the state where I'll be living. One of them seem to not think too highly of me (not that I would care anyway).
Here's the story: We met at the reception held at the Japanese ambassador's Place (meeting him was pretty cool). We recognize that we'd be in the same state, so he asked me what city will you be living in? I say, you know what I don't really know. He says, really? Haven't they given you that information already. I say, I'm sure they have, but I don't really care to know. Then he looks at me with this unbelievable expression and runs off. I just stood there and thought, well that wasn't the most promising example of the nature of the people I'll be around for the next year. He was American though, maybe the JETS from other countries will be a bit more ummmm normal.
Well I'm going to try and force my self to go to sleep. See ya
