This Isn't Funny
There's something wrong when I have to sit inside a closed building with my winter coat on. I look freakin ridiculous, but I'd rather look so than die of frost bite.
How is it that the Japanese can be so far advanced in so many ways, but so behind in the most mundane of things?
My dilemma: Lack of insulation and central heating in homes and buildings.
Solution: There is none!!!!!! You just freeze your arse to death. You do anything conceivable to keep your tush warm and you pray that the season passes over quickly.
The only problem is winter hasn't even started yet! Someone help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What brought on this exclamation: Checking out the weather in Miami. It's 85 degrees fahrenheit there now!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, I know exactly how you feel. I don't know why, but that's so common in Japan. I'm telling you, if you can, get a heated carpet. If you have space, a kotatsu, too. But definitely the carpet. Those are sooo nice!
Yeah it is, isn't it. They need to catch in with the times in regards to that.
Hmmmm will the heated carpet work with tatami mats? Because that's all I have....
Btw I do have a kotatu (a short table which emits heat from the bottom. You can lift off the top of the table and put a blanket over the heating grill and create a cocoon under the table). It's saving my life!!!!!! Although, once I get under it I have no motivation to do anything else.
