A New Start for the Long Haul

The 1st of April came and went and with it the start of the new school year here in Japan. And boy must I say it looks to be a promising year! My classes have more than doubled, literally, and my role as an assistant language teacher is expanding. I feel less like a temporary installment and more like a valued resource. Too bad it's come all too close to my final departure.

Anyhoot, I'm so excited about this year I can hardly contain my enthusiasm. I've made an effort this time around to get involved. Whether or not I've been invited, I've self appointed myself to attend meetings and briefings that previously I was oblivious of. It's amazing what one year experience and improvement in kanji reading skills can bring. Now when I glance up at the daily announcements on the wall I don't just see gibberish.

And what I'm really excited about is my role as the head of the album committee for the freshmens! This is great news considering my new found interest in photography! I can't wait.
